Meditation is seeing with your heart!

Welcome to my first blog post. I thought it was only fitting to start with a blog on meditation as that practice is where I began my spiritual journey. I was 33 years old and I had found myself seeking a different way to navigate my life. Meditation became my guide. I cannot imagine my life now without this invaluable tool for creating and processing my life. We are all on a journey, and each of us seeks different ways of being. When we find a different way that works for us, it’s good to share it with others. Sharing is always a way to give back to the world, and every time we do, it elevates our spirit and reveals more aspects of our true nature.

The meditation I recorded on my website, “Finding your safe place in nature,” is my gift for whomever would like to accept it.

There are several different types of meditation to help keep our body and mind healthy. My reason for practising meditation might be completely different from someone else’s. It is important for you to define for yourself exactly what you want and need from meditation so you can benefit the most from the experience.

When I started my spiritual journey, meditatively, I created my safe place in nature. It was where I went to be present with all my feelings and to work through my emotions openly and without judgement. Today, meditation is still my safe place to do the latter. I am deeply grateful that it is also where I connect to my spiritual-self and consciously go to create and heal everything in my life.

Meditation engages our conscious, unconscious and sub-conscious minds. By suggesting different scenarios in nature and engaging our five senses in what we might expect to find there, we consciously get our imagination juices flowing. In turn, our unconscious and sub-conscious minds are able to better prepare us for the experience by grabbing onto a familiar sight, smell, taste, touch and sound to create our safe place in nature. You are encouraged not to share the details of your safe place with anyone because this space is where you go, meditatively, to feel safe—to express all of you. By sharing the details of this space, you would be relinquishing that feeling of judgement-free safety.

It’s important to remember that all methods of meditation have the same destination—unity. The secret to unity is to see with your heart.
